Secret Compass expeditions and adventures are ground costs only (full details can be found on the specific Expedition page). All teammates and adventurers are responsible for their own international flights or travel to the specified start and end points, usually the team hotel. Many airlines or flight booking services will provide no-obligation quotes to help with your expedition planning. Secret Compass recommends booking flights via a trusted interface and nominating a family member or other point of contact who has the authority to make adjustments to your booking in case there are delays or issues whilst you are on the ground and with limited communications.

For each team expedition, ‘The Plan’ section outlines flight requirements, with further information provided in the comprehensive Expedition Handbook – contact us for more details.

Flight arrival times for expeditions

If you have requested our detailed Expedition Handbook, the Key Facts section highlights the expedition start and end dates, as well as the timings of the expedition briefing and any departure restrictions. Please bear in mind transit times en route and book realistic connections to enable both you, and your baggage, to arrive in good time for the expedition start. Similarly, when making arrangements for the end of the expedition, remember to factor in travel times to the airport, changes between domestic and international terminals (where appropriate) and international check-in times – this may mean that an early morning flight on the last day of the expedition is not practical. Secret Compass always recommend allowing extra time in your flight plans or booking a flexible ticket to accommodate delays during your expedition. If you are unsure about the suitability of your arrangements, please check with SCHQ prior to booking travel. To maintain our team-focused atmosphere, all expeditions require minimum numbers of participants before they are a confirmed departure – Secret Compass don’t recommend making flight arrangements until your expedition has been confirmed.
